i was driving NORMALY to the pool hall in town here.. everything worked good, but when i came out started my car my tranny wudnt go into reverse properly it grinded what ever, as i was driving down the road to the timhortans it got worse and it got harder to put in gear. my clutch feels way softer than before. car still drives it realy hard to put it in gear and grinds like a MOFO and when i release the clutch about less than half of an inch clutch grabs right away. what do you guys think tranny broke? or clutch problem? clutch resvoir has fluid in it. clutch is stage 2 CC clutch is still spinning while the pedal is to the floor by the feel of it

It sounds like a clutch problem. If it started all of a sudden. I would be looking at a fluid leak. Be sure to check the slave on the trans.

Leave the car in neutral and have someone push the clutch pedal down while you look up at the slave cylinder and fork and see if its moving properly and all. That will help you determine whether or not its something on the inside or outside of the transmission. If you can still actually get the car into gear, and it just happened suddenly, I'm going to think that could have a leaky slave cylinder perhaps.

Im with Pat B on this one. It sounds like you have lost pressure in the system. This could be a number of things. I would check the lines for leaks, then check the slave. If there is oil coming out of the slave around the rubber boot i would say that the slave needs replacing.

? didn't you or your buddy just do some work on the clutch system, check the work last done. As the guys said sounds like adjustment and or hydraulics.

Don't be to quick to just blurt out your transmission or clutch is NFG.

I've tried to re-build one before. It did not last more then a couple weeks. For the price, I would just hit up NAPA for a new one. If it is your slave.

is the clutch system hyrdraulic? or cable?

hydraulic

Check up under the dash to see if there is fluid leaking from the seal at the clutch pedal. That is what happened to mine. Caused all kind of strange problems. Did you check your slave on the trans?

Did you check your slave?

Start with known parts. You are talking about a slave and a master, lines are lines. Work with the simple things first. Have you checked your adjustment yet? you should check everything outside the trans, before you pull it to check the clutch.

you shouldn't have to pull the slave from another car. if the slave is gone, the pedal will go to the floor with no pressure. there will probably fluid around the slave. have a buddy press the pedal while you check for slave movement.
If you suspect the clutch. trouble shoot that separetly. AFTER you properly trouble shoot the slave. If your still going to guess it's the clutch, I'll trailer it to forcepower.
