So one of the things I'm thinking about for next year is. Removing the two puller fans I have now. Then installing 2 of the biggest pusher fans I can get in there. So the fans would be mounted on the outside of the rad, pushing air through. Has any one ever tried this? It would free up a lot of space around the turbo. In theory, two larger fans pushing more air should improve cooling.

Were you going to be upgrading the rad as well?
I believe the two go hand in hand. I'm sure you could run a stock rad for a while but to be most effective you'd probably want to look into a fluidine or similar.

I'm already running a fluidyn (sp) rad in the car.

right on then:biggthumpup:

See if you can compare your old temps to the new ones after the pusher fans.
Would be interesting to see the difference.

We have found for what ever reason, that "Pull Fans" tend to work better than push fans. With that said, one pull fan and one push fan have worked great on most cars.

Pullers are much more efficient. I would say probably 150% more than a pusher.. using the same fan for example.

If you can fit them as pullers that's the better route.

Okay I'm bringing this one back.

I'm have high heat issues during idle and stop and go traffic.Temps will get up to the 220-230 range (as best I can tell by my autometer gauge). Once I'm moving it drops back to 180-195 with in two city blocks. The only thing I can think of is the fans. They are coming on, I have a stock fan on the pass. side and a slim fan on the drivers. They are both wired to come on at the same time. Any ideas what can be done about this? I did notice that the stock fan moves a lot more air then the slim fan. Would it be worth trying to fit a second stock fan in place of the slim one?

I'm running one puller on a stock rad as well. In mild city driving it's 215ish. Highway 203ish.

I have no doubt that if I beat on my car, it'll overheat. I'll eventually get a better rad, and a pusher fan.
