upgrading

okay so i have a few questions about upgrading my turbo...i have decide that i want to go with the evo 3 16g of course. my questions are will the stock engine be able to hold together from the higher boost levels or is it recommend to get an engine rebuild first?? Also would a smi be able to handle the cooling of the upgraded turbo or should i upgrade to a fmi right away???:couch

If it were me. I would make sure to have all the supporting mods in place first. That way you can get the most out of the turbo. Check out what the guys at Force power have been able to get out of those turbos.
